13 Oct 2006 - One World Day Assembly
The presentations included a powerpoint and talk from Isa and Hannah who had been on the Fulcrum Challenge before Summer. This invloved raising funds for the charity to allow them to travel to India to help refurbish a school as part of a bigger team.
This year it is the turn for Kate and another Hannah to raise around £3,600 between them to take part in the Fulcrum Challenge. We wish them well, and look forward to their fund raising ideas!
Also speaking today was Habib Malik (pictured above), the Scotland Area Fundraiser for Islamic Relief UK http://www.islamic-relief.com/uk/ Habib talked about fund raising to help others around the world. He urged all people to think of helping others through the main DEC charities http://www.dec.org.uk of which Islamic Relief UK is a member.
Finally it was farewell to Leith Fischer who has been the School Chaplain since 1990. Leith has given great service to the school, and we are indebted to him. He was presented with gifts by Mr Cunningham to remember his links with Hillhead High.
