5 Mar 2008 - Home Economics Masterclass in Cake Decorating

  On Friday 29th February S3 Home Economics pupils took part in a cake decorating masterclass.

Evelyn Hogarth from Top Tier designer cakes demonstrated various techniques using fondant icing and afterwards the pupils used the opportunity to decorate their own version of a celebration cake. Most of the pupils decided on a Mother's Day theme as 2nd March was Mothering Sunday.

 

 

Each pupil made a little bear made from coloured fondant.

Specialist cake decorating powder was added with a paintbrush to give the cakes a sparkling finish.
